Occupation: Retired
Bryan, Texas
Spouse: Zou

F. Boyd Cherry graduated from Texas A&M with a BS in Electrical Engineering in 1967 and an MBA in Computer Science in 1970. While at A&M, Boyd was a member of the Corps of Cadets, Ross Volunteers, Student Engineers Council, and Editor of the Texas A&M Engineer magazine. He received a commission in the U.S. Army and served two years active duty as an Ordnance officer. Thereafter, Boyd spent his professional career in Houston working in the energy industry, primarily the natural gas sector, for several public and private companies. He held staff and management positions in engineering, corporate finance, investor relations and marketing. After 35 years in the corporate world, he did consulting work in asset acquisitions for two years.

Boyd and his wife, Zou, retired to Bryan to 2007. They are now both involved in all things A&M from athletic events to volunteering for activities through organizations such as the Corps of Cadets Association, Mays Business School, and the Association of Former Students. Zou also serves on the boards of OPAS and the Friends of the Library. They have funded an endowed graduate scholarship through the A&M Foundation in memory of his parents and are Legacy and Heritage Society members. They support the 12th Man Foundation through capital campaign gifts and as members of the Champions Council and Athletic Ambassadors.

"We want Texas A&M to have the best programs across the board and have programs we can all be proud of.

It's a real pleasure for us to do this, because I think back about all the support Aggies have given me. No one accomplishes everything in life by themselves, and A&M and the Aggie network have definitely been there for me throughout my life."
